1. Banner Unveiling
Members of the Cross-Party Groups (CPGs)
on Children and Families and Children in Our
Care gathered on the steps of the Senedd to unveil a banner
celebrating the launch of the Bil Pob Plentyn. The
banner read:
Bil Pob Plentyn: A
Law for Every Child
2. Opening Remarks and Bill Launch
Following the unveiling, attendees convened in
the Media Briefing Room.
Jane Dodds MS, Sioned Williams MS, and Brendan
Roberts (representative from Voices from Care
Cymru) led the session.
- Jane Dodds MS officially announced the
launch of the Bil Pob Plentyn and expressed
gratitude to all organisations involved in its development.
- She led a discussion on the scope and
limitations of the proposed legislation.
3. Party Commitments
- Jane also confirmed her intention to present
the proposal at the Welsh Liberal Democrats’ conference,
seeking a commitment to include it in the party’s 2026
Senedd Election manifesto.
- Sioned Williams MS echoed this
commitment, stating she would bring the proposal to Plaid
Cymru with the aim of securing its inclusion in
their 2026 manifesto.
4. Lived Experience and Expert Insight
- Brendan Roberts, speaking from personal
experience as a care-experienced person, shared a powerful
perspective on the importance and potential impact of the
Bill.
- Helen Mary Jones provided expert
commentary, addressing technical questions and offering insight
into the legislative framework.
5. Closing and Networking
The event concluded with a networking session
and photo opportunities to promote the initiative on social
media.
